Are you paying attention?
Because Life is trying to tell you something.
In fact, Life is always communicating with you.
The question is, are you paying attention?
This voice of Life can be easy to miss if you haven’t yet learned how to listen to it. It’s a soft, subtle voice—almost like a whisper in your ear.
And if you’re ignoring it…if you aren’t paying attention to it…Life starts to send louder and louder messages until, if this is what it takes to get your attention, It brings you to your knees.
Sometimes we have to have a breakdown in order to have a breakthrough.
This could be through a divorce, a life-threatening illness, the loss of a job…
The saying “nervous breakdowns are highly underrated” rings true.
Because sometimes that is what is required for us to finally surrender—to give up the belief that we have everything under control.
I’ve heard more than one person say “cancer is the best thing that ever happened to me”, or “it took my divorce to wake me up.”
There is something powerful that happens in that dark night of the soul…
We meet ourselves.
When the voice of our control-driven Ego gives way to the soft, subtle voice of Life (or God), that is when we meet ourselves…and discover the answers that are within us.
This is as true on a collective level as it is on a personal one.
I believe what we are witnessing now, and have been for a while actually, is a collective nervous breakdown.
Life, in its infinite wisdom, has found a creative way to show us that in spite of the Ego’s attempt to divide us based on nationality, race, gender, religion, or political party affiliation…
We are one.
It is said that if you go deep enough in the human mind—beyond thought, constructs, and stories—there is a place where all minds are joined.
This is the Universal One Mind.
What if everything that is happening right now, globally, is Life’s way of cutting through all the noise and bringing us to our knees so we can finally surrender to the truth that we are all connected…that we are one? And that Love is the most powerful healing force in existence?
What if this “dark night of the soul” is a gift to help us get quiet and meet ourselves so that the subtle, soft voice of Life can finally be heard?
What if this is the collective deep breath the planet and all of humanity needs to get humble, centered and balanced, with realigned, healthier priorities?
Perhaps one day we will look back on this moment in time and say “that was the best thing that ever happened to us”, even though we didn’t realize it at the time.
My question to you is this:
Have you been listening to the soft, subtle voice of Life? Or has the outside noise been drowning it out?
